
In yet another stray dog attack, a four-year-old boy lost an eye in Bhuvanagiri town in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, prompting widespread condemnation of the lethargy of municipal officials in controlling the dog menace.
The boy was playing outside his house when the dog attacked him. He was taken to Hyderabad for treatment and is said to be out of danger. His other eye is unaffected, but he may lose the injured eye.
Meanwhile, local residents have protested the city corporation’s lethargy in curbing the menace of stray dogs, forcing officials to visit the site and ensure that the government provides medical treatment.
Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, who is attending the Lok Sabha, spoke to the parents of the injured boy and assured them that the boy would be given the best medical treatment. He also asked the district collector and other officials to take steps to prevent such incidents.
