
Four people, including two women, from Manvi taluk in Raichur district died in Tungabhadra near Kandkur village, Kosigi Mandal, Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as 35-year-old Dasari Umavathi, 29-year-old Dasari Ratnamma, 20-year-old Dasari Shivanand and 28-year-old Mahantesh.
Apart from Dasari Ratnamma, three others were from a Kurdish village in Manvi taluk.
Police sources said the four died when they went to bathe in the river. They all went to Kosigi on Tuesday to attend the wedding ceremony.
The Kosigi police who visited the spot recovered the bodies with the help of local swimmers and fishermen.
A case has been registered at Kosigi Police Station. Further investigation is underway.
