South Western Railway, Mysuru Division has successfully operationalized the Next Generation Passenger Reservation System (PRS) at the Advance Ticket Reservation Counter at Kuvempunagar, Mysuru.
This achievement marks a significant milestone as Kuvempunagar becomes the first Non-Railway Station (NRH) on Indian Railways to be operated by PRS based on advanced passenger operating system through static IP address over internet, according to the division.
The newly launched system is designed to enhance passenger convenience by providing faster, reliable and hassle-free booking services. The integration of UPI-enabled payment options facilitates cashless transactions and provides passengers with a modern, secure and user-friendly ticketing experience, a press release said.
“With this initiative, the Mysuru division continues its commitment to digital transformation and improved customer service by expanding advanced railway reservation facilities beyond traditional station premises,” the company said.
Passengers can now enjoy efficient and hassle-free ticket booking services in Kuvempunagar, reducing dependence on station counters and promoting ease of access in the city.
“This development reflects Indian Railways’ continued efforts to adopt innovative technologies and expand passenger-centric services at various locations,” said Girish Dharmaraj Kalagonda, Divisional Commercial Director, Mysuru Division.
