Karnataka Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh chaired a meeting with senior police officials and officials of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) to review the security arrangements for the IPL match to be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday (March 28).
Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the opening encounter at the stadium. The Chief Secretary was looking into the details of security measures in and around the stadium, traffic management plans, parking facilities, availability of drinking water and other basic services for spectators. It also directed officials to assess passenger density in the Namma Metro, review train timetables and beef up security at metro stations.
Stressing the need for vigilance, Ms. Rajneesh instructed the officials to strictly follow all the safety protocols prescribed by the government and ensure that no untoward incident takes place during the tournament.
RCB representatives, city police commissioner, senior civic officials, Metro director and heads of relevant departments also participated in the meeting.
