The Department of Business Administration at BN Bahadur Institute of Management Sciences (BIMS), University of Mysore, Mysuru will celebrate its Golden Jubilee at Senate Bhavan, Manasagangotri Campus on March 28 at 9.30 am.
Established in 1974, the department pioneered management education in the region and has produced a large number of graduates who are now holding key positions in the corporate and business sectors in India and abroad, bringing laurels to their alma mater.
Golden Jubilee celebrations are organized by alumni of the institution, marking five decades of academic excellence and institutional growth.
According to the organizers, the department started its journey under the visionary leadership of the university and JK Irani and has since grown into a renowned center of management studies.
Vice Chancellor NK Lokanath will inaugurate the event. MR Jaishankar, Executive Chairman, Brigade Group and a first batch MBA graduate will be the Chief Guest.
Registrar MK Savitha and Registrar (Evaluation) N. Nagaraja will be present.
To mark the occasion, the department will launch its alumni association aimed at linking its “illustrious past with a promising future” by promoting mentorship and professional networking among alumni.
The event will include a felicitation of Professor Anand, who is retiring after nearly four decades of service. According to the organizers, Prof. Anand played a key role in the growth of the institution by nurturing generations of management graduates, promoting research and strengthening the academic standing of the institute.
Dr. Mahesh Rajagopal, chairman of BIMS, described the occasion as “a moment of immense pride and nostalgia” and said the celebrations would bring together alumni, faculty and students to celebrate the milestone.
