Officials accepted 23 nomination papers from 16 candidates for Bagalkot polling stations. The deadline for selection is March 26. The vote is scheduled for April 9.
Officials rejected three nomination papers because they were not in order.
A release from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer said officials recovered ₹66.30 crore in cash, 232 liters of liquor worth ₹10 lakh and other valuables during the raids in Bagalkot and Davangere.
Police and ECI officers registered 12 heinous cases, four license violations and 32 cases under the Excise Act. As many as six two-wheelers and two two-wheelers were restored.
Up to 201 complaints were received. Of these, 137 have been liquidated and 64 are ongoing.
ECI officials conducted an awareness and training program on the use of EVMs and VVPATs on March 17 in Bagalkot and March 18 in Davangere. Representatives of political parties were present during the sorting process.
The first randomization was done in Bagalkot and Davangere South on March 18.
Meanwhile, the Observer General recently met the polling nodes in Bagalkot.
Parul Patwari, General Observer discussed in detail the work of various nodal officers, measures related to implementation of model code of conduct, voter facilities and preparations to be made in polling booths.
She asked all the nodal officers to discharge their duties properly and conduct the elections in a transparent and impartial manner.
