The Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIM-K) has achieved a global milestone by entering the Top 100 of the prestigious QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 for the first time.
The institute was ranked 78th globally in the narrow subject category of Business and Management Studies, a remarkable increase from last year’s 141st position, a press release said on Wednesday (25 March 2026).
The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 ranked 6,277 institutions worldwide, with 1,912 institutions ranked in 55 narrow subjects and five broad subject areas, resulting in more than 21,000 ranking entries. In this highly competitive global ranking, IIM-K’s strong performance underscores its growing international visibility and academic excellence in management education.

It achieved an individual rank of 141 for the first time in 2025 and now firmly secures a place among the world’s top 100 institutions in its domain.
Commenting on this achievement, Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM-K said, “Breaking into the top 100 universities in the QS World University Rankings by Subject is a proud moment for IIM-K. This achievement reflects the collective commitment of our faculty, students, alumni and partners who are constantly striving for excellence, our research record, innovation track record and continuous rise in rankings to nurture leaders who can thrive in increasingly connected world.’
