RCB’s big changes ahead of IPL: New rules, tribute and squad updateOn Wednesday, SRH shared a video in which Ishan talked about his new challenge – leading the party.“I’m very impressed and I’m very happy that I got the opportunity to lead this team. And to be very honest, I’m going to keep it simple, not do that much because when the players come for the IPL, I think they’re all very good players. You just have to make sure they’re on the right track,” Ishan said.“And their mindset doesn’t change after a few innings, they go back and forth. And the rest is, you know, it’s going to be a good season, I think, and we’re just going to do it together. I think there’s a lot, a lot, a lot of learning this season, because I’ll tell you, I’ve learned one thing in the last few years, the most important thing for a cricketer in a whole season,” he added.“So, mostly this season, we’re going to make sure we stay in the present, just keep it simple and do as much hard work as possible before the game starts. But in the game, we’re going to enjoy the game and take it one game at a time,” he added.Ishan had a stellar T20 World Cup in 2026, scoring 317 runs at an average of 35.22, with a strike rate of over 193.“It was, I feel like, the best couple of days of my life because, you know, suddenly I joined the team and won the World Cup with the team, so that was one of the best moments. Because, you know, there was a lot of hard work. The players were, a few of them were not in form, but when it was the time when it was needed the most, they all played the best cricket possible, I think we all played the best part in cricket this season,” he said.Ishan also spoke about the power of manifestation and said that he always believed that he would make a big comeback.“When I wasn’t on the team, there wasn’t – I mean, how do I explain it? There was always a feeling that I was going to make the team anyway because I knew the most important thing was going to be the amount of hard work that I put in. And you know, you always have to believe in yourself,” he said.It was the domestic grind that helped Ishan build his way to T20I cricket’s biggest prize as he led Jharkhand to its maiden Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) title last year, topping the charts with 517 runs in 10 innings, including two hundreds and two fifties.“This will be a message to so many guys who lose track or don’t believe in themselves and they should know that they should believe and just work hard. Things will change,” he signed off.
