KKR star added to India Squad for Sri Lanka tri-series to replace Harsh Dubey

Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Anukul Roy has been added to the India A squad for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka in this tri-series. Anukul replaces Harsh Dubey in the team, who was called up to the Indian Test and ODI squads for the first time for the home series against Afghanistan.

The tri-series involving India A, Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A is scheduled to be held in Dambulla from June 9 to June 21, 2026. Anukul has played a major role for KKR, especially in their spin which has seen them still in contention for the play-offs this season.

“The men’s selection committee has added Anukul Roy to the India A squad for the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka. He will replace Harsh Dubey, who has been called up to the Indian Test and ODI squad for the first time for the upcoming IDFC First Bank home series against Afghanistan.”

“The tri-series will feature Sri Lanka A, India A and Afghanistan A and will be played in Dambulla from June 9 to June 21, 2026,” the BCCI said in a statement.

Tilak Varma will captain a strong team, deputized by Riyan Parag. All the attention will be on Vaibhav Sooryavanshiwho is looking to impress in India A colors and continues his quest for a call-up to the senior team.

ANUKUL IN IPL 2026

Anukul entered the IPL 2026 season on the back of a spectacular Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy campaign with Jharkhand that saw him named the player of the tournament.

IPL 2026 was the first season in which Anukul managed to earn a permanent place in the KKR side, taking eight wickets from 13 matches.

He worked as a third spinner for Calcutta alongside Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy.
