Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), a City Natural Gas Distribution (CGD), has ensured uninterrupted supply of Domestic Natural Gas (PNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for transportation across its geographical areas in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
In addition, the company has introduced various benefits for its domestic and commercial PNG consumers aimed at encouraging the use and adoption of PNG.
Pursuant to the Natural Gas (Supply Regulation) 2026 dated 9 March 2026, domestic PNG and CNG have been recognized as the highest priority sector.
MGL has taken measures to maintain a consistent supply so that customers continue to receive reliable and safe fuel for everyday use. This would cover all its Geographical Areas (GAs) – Mumbai, Thane, Mira-Bhayander, Navi Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Chitradurg, Davengere, Latur and Dharashiv.
In addition to securing supplies, MGL has implemented a number of customer-focused initiatives to accelerate the adoption of PNG in GA. For domestic customers, the company is offering: Free gas worth ₹500 on all new registrations from March 16 to April 30, 2026 and gas bill adjustment of ₹1,000 per customer from new builds where the penetration level is above 60%. In addition, an instant discount of ₹500 per customer is offered for web registrations and waiver of minimum charges during the non-usage period.
There are plans to introduce zero upfront registration fees, with payments only after conversion. Several payment plan options are available to customers.
MGL waives registration fees for commercial customers. The company will also provide the associated infrastructure at its own expense.
These benefits are aimed at making PNG more accessible while maintaining high standards of service and reliability. “MGL remains focused on providing reliable solutions that support both homes and commercial installations,” the company said.
