US President Donald Trump said on Monday that over the past two days, Iran and the United States had “very productive coverage of a full and hot resolution to hostilities in the Middle East”.
“I am pleased to report that the United States of America and the country of Iran have had very good and productive conversations over the past two days regarding the full and complete resolution of our hostilities in the Middle East,” President Trump said in a social media post.
“Based on the content and tone of these in-depth, detailed and constructive talks, which will continue throughout the week, I have directed the War Department to suspend all military strikes against Iran’s power plants and energy infrastructure for five days,” President Trump said.
This instruction, Donald Trump said, depends on the success of ongoing meetings and discussions.
