The flex plates used for the election campaign were seized during a blitz conducted at various printing facilities within Kochi Corporation limits. A fine of ₹25,000 was imposed on the business found to have violated the law. The district execution squad has intensified its intervention against violations of the green protocol enforced in the framework of the council elections.
The inspection was carried out due to strict compliance with election rules and the green protocol. According to the official statement, about 25 kg of banned flex boards were recovered from the printer.
District Collector G. Priyanka said the inspection would be extended to other parts of the district in the coming days to curb these violations during the election period. Strict action will be taken if violations are found, she said.
The Collector ordered that only eco-friendly materials be used for the campaigns and that items like plastic, disposables, PVC flex and banners be avoided. Legal action will continue to be initiated against those who violate the green protocol, she added in the statement.
