Charita Thirumalai in collaboration with Chennai-based Great Goals Football Academy organized a football tournament for school students between the ages of six and 12 at the school campus of Vedavalli Vidyalaya in Ranipet on Sunday.
According to a press release, the event was held to celebrate International Women’s Day. More than 300 students from Chennai, Walajah and Ranipet participated in the competition. The referee of the match was K. Sankar of All India Football Federation (AIFF).
In her presidential address, Bhooma Parthasarathy, Director of Thirumalai Charitable Organization and Thirumalai Mission Hospital, highlighted the half-century legacy of the social service organization. More than 150 girls in the region have received professional soccer coaching through the Great Goals Academy, she said.
