On Friday (March 20, 2026), there was no progress in seat-sharing talks in Tamil Nadu between the ruling DMK and the CPI-M. The two sides were not communicating, the sources said.
Another key ally, the VCK also demanded at least eight seats, but the DMK offered only seven. The delay in finalizing seat allocation has stalled the next phase of identifying constituencies and announcing candidates.
