Six people were killed in a helicopter crash in Qatar’s territorial waters as operations continue to search for the last missing person, the interior ministry said on Sunday.
Qatar’s defense ministry said the dead included three Qatari troops and three Turkish citizens, including a military officer and two civilians. The Qatari airman remains missing, the ministry said.
The Ministry of Defense earlier said the helicopter crashed after suffering a technical fault during “routine service”.
The interior ministry said several specialist teams had been deployed.
Qatar did not specify where the helicopter was flying to or the number of people on board.
