Ramzan, which culminated in Eid-ul-Fitr, was marked by celebrations of devotion and community spirit in various towns of Chittoor, Annamayya and Sri Sathya Sai districts on Saturday.
In Chittoor district, a large gathering was seen at Greamspet, where devout Muslims gathered at a mosque early in the morning. Dressed in traditional attire, they offered prayers and greeted each other after ‘namaz’. Later, families spent time together, sharing meals and visiting relatives. Police maintained a bandobast at various mosques in Chittoor, Palamaner and Nagari towns and directed traffic to avoid traffic jams.
Meanwhile, grand celebrations were held in Madanapalle, Piler, Punganur and Rayachoti in Annamayya district. Thousands of people took part in the morning prayers that marked the end of the Lenten season. Many people were seen distributing food and offering charity as part of the occasion. Police monitored using drones and CCTV cameras.
Ramzan festivities were witnessed throughout Sri Sathya Sai district, especially in Hindupur, Dharmavaram and Kadiri divisions. Large crowds gathered for prayers, after which people visited friends and relatives. Traffic movement was regulated at key points to avoid congestion.
