Leaders of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) on Friday said that the job calendar released recently by the government has dashed the hopes of the unemployed youth.
Federation State Secretary G. Ramanna, who participated in the protest at Dharna Chowk, said, “TDP promised to publish a job calendar every year, but after two years, a jobless calendar has been published. This amounts to a gross betrayal of the unemployed youth.”
He said that the Home Secretary had earlier announced that there were 10,762 vacancies of police constables, but now only 1,970 posts were shown in the job calendar. Similarly, there were more than 5,000 vacancies in Group 1 and 2 services, but only 841 posts were notified. The HRD minister said that there are more than 4,000 vacancies in universities but only 1,500 posts are included in the job calendar.
He criticized the delay in the DSC announcement, saying it was previously promised in March that it would be completed by June, later pushed back to October, and now only 2,565 posts are included in the jobs calendar.
He said that under GO No. 13, 2,260 posts in Special Education DSC were to be filled through direct recruitment, but now only 713 posts are shown in the job calendar. “There are no PET posts at all,” he said, demanding that DSC posts be increased in view of the number of retired teachers.
He said librarian posts had not been filled for the past 20 years, but only 100 posts were included in the job calendar, while there was no mention of assistant and veterinary assistant posts in the animal husbandry department. In the engineering sector, only 503 posts have been shown while more than 3,000 posts are vacant and not a single post has been listed for APGENCO, TRANSCO or DISCOM, he added.
Mr. Ramanna demanded that the job calendar be revised, with at least ₹ 1000000000000000000000 and also called for raising the upper age limit to 47 years and to 34 years for police constable candidates.
DYFI State President Y. Ramu along with leaders Shiva, Lakshmi Narayana, Somashekar, Basava, Sai, Pranav and Librarian JAC leaders Jagadeesh and Seenu participated in the protest.
