The mystery surrounding the death of a 28-year-old man, the son of a former Madikai grama panchayat president, has been largely cleared up, with preliminary post-mortem findings suggesting a medical cause.
K. Sreeraj, 28, was found dead on the road near Kanhirappoyil in Madikai around 6.30 am on Thursday.
However, a preliminary post-mortem report conducted at the Kannur Government Medical College Hospital (MCH) suggested that the death was likely due to fluid accumulation in the brain.
Due to the suspicious nature of the death, forensic experts and the police canine unit had previously examined the scene. Subsequently, the Hosdur police ended the investigation and handed the body over to the MCH for a detailed examination.
The body was handed over to relatives after the autopsy. The Hosdur police started further proceedings in the case.
