Lucknow Super Giants head coach Justin Langer expects Rishabh Pant to perform well in Indian Premier League 2026. Ahead of the season, Langer said Pant was in good touch in the nets and was expected to be firing on all cylinders.
The Lucknow captain, the most expensive signing in the history of the tournament, has endured a tough run of form in the 2025 edition. Pant managed just 269 runs during the season, including a hundred in the final game.

“Rishabh Pant will be ready to go. He is training now. Camp is going on. He is firing. Champions don’t stay out for long. His last game in IPL 2025 showed how great he can be. So that is our expectation from him this year,” Justin Langer told the media on the sidelines of the LSG camp.
Pant began his preparations for the IPL during the 2026 T20 World Cup, a tournament he did not participate in. The wicketkeeper has turned to Yuvraj Singh in a bid to revive his T20 career.
Yuvraj, who has worked with the likes of Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh, was recently seen training with Pant at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai.
Lucknow Super Giants endured a poor campaign last season. The team finished in 7th place despite scoring a lot of runs last season. LSG hope to get back on track under Pant. Led by Langer, the team will be hoping that the unit bats in unison and that the team remains injury free this season.
Lucknow play their opening match of the season on April 1 against Delhi Capitals at the Ekana Stadium.
