Sri Lanka’s Deputy High Commissioner for South India Ganesanathan Geathiswaran on Wednesday (July 1, 2026) called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay at the Secretariat and held talks with him.
Later, Axis Bank Managing Director and CEO Amitabh Chaudhry along with senior bank officials also called on the Chief Minister.
Mohamed Rela, Chairman and CEO of Rela Hospital; G. Ramesh Krishnan, Managing Director; Mohamed Farook, Chief Operating Officer; and other senior leaders of the hospital also met with the primary minister.
The official announcement was made by P. Gopal Krishnan, President; S. Sukumar, Secretary; and KG Prithvi, Vice President, Karur Textile Manufacturers and Exporters Association, also met Mr. Vijay.
Tamimun Ansari meets Nirmalkumar
Manithaneya Jananayaga Katchi leader and Chidambaram MLA Thamimun Ansari met Law Minister R. Nirmalkumar and urged the Tamil Nadu government to file an appeal against the Madurai Bench order of the Madras High Court which held that a convert to Islam cannot claim Backward Class Muslim status.
