India has appointed Vikram K. Doraiswami as its next ambassador to China, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Thursday (March 19, 2026). Mr. Doraiswami is currently the High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom.
“He is expected to take up the task soon,” the ministry said in a statement.
Currently, Pradeep Kumar Rawat is serving as India’s Ambassador to China.
Mr. Doraiswami previously served as India’s ambassador to Bangladesh, South Korea and Uzbekistan.
