The Knight Riders have a new home, but this time it’s not in Kolkata. LA Knight Riders will now play at their own dedicated ground in California, a first for any IPL-owned franchise.
The franchise has announced the Knight Riders Cricket Field at the Fairplex in Pomona as their official home for 2026, a major step in their global expansion. Speaking about the development, Knight Riders owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan said the moment was special for the franchise.

“Over the years, Knight Riders has grown into a truly global family and each new milestone is special for us,” said Shah Rukh Khan.
He added that having a home base in Los Angeles is something the team hopes to build on.
“Seeing the Los Angeles Knight Riders have their own home is incredibly exciting. The US is a great sports market with passionate fans and we hope this ground becomes a place where people come together to celebrate the game and support the team,” he said.
Knight Riders Sports CEO Venky Mysore said Los Angeles is an important market for the franchise.
“Los Angeles is one of the most dynamic sports markets in the world and an important home for the Knight Riders brand,” Mysore said.
He added that the partnership with Fairplex is a long-term step towards the growth of the sport.
“The establishment of Knight Riders Cricket Field in partnership with Fairplex is a significant milestone for our franchise and we look forward to building the sport in the region,” he said.
WHY IT MATTERS TO USA CRICKET
This move is not just about having land, but about establishing a proper base in the US.
With a fixed venue in Southern California, the LA Knight Riders can now build a local fan base instead of moving locations. The ground is expected to host Major League Cricket matches, giving fans regular access to top-level cricket.
What makes this move stand out is that no other IPL-owned franchise currently has its own stadium.
