However, the night was overshadowed by a worrying injury to Lang, who had to be stretchered off after a bizarre incident near the touchline.
The Netherlands international was involved in a tussle with Curtis Jones in the 75th minute before crashing into the advertising boards. In the process, he thought his thumb was trapped, leaving him in visible agony.

Lang was seen clutching his hand with blood pouring from the injury as Liverpool players rushed to check on him before medical staff intervened.
HOW DID NOA LANG GET INJURED?
The injury occurred when Lang lost his balance during the duel and crashed into the boards near Liverpool’s goal. His thumb caught awkwardly between the boards, resulting in a deep gash.
Galatasaray’s medical team immediately attended to the striker and the game was interrupted as he was treated on the pitch.
“Right now he is going to the hospital, he has an important problem with his finger,” Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk said after the match.
Buruk added that the severity of the injury could require surgery, with a decision pending further medical assessment.
“They got him there very quickly. If immediate surgery is required, that will be decided,” he said.
WHAT HAPPENED TO VICTOR OSIMHEN?
Victor Osimhene’s night also took a painful turn earlier in the match after he suffered a hand injury during the first half.
The Nigerian forward injured his left wrist when he collided with Ibrahima Konate’s knee during the aerial attack. Osimhen was in visible discomfort and required lengthy treatment as the game was briefly delayed.

Galatasaray initially delayed his substitution, but the forward didn’t look entirely comfortable the rest of the time on the pitch.
Injuries summed up a difficult evening for Galatasaray, who were outplayed throughout by a dominant Liverpool side.
The Turkish side’s struggles in England continued, winning just once in their last 13 visits as they exited the competition again.
Meanwhile, Liverpool progressed comfortably and will now face defending champions Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals.
