In retaliation for Larijani’s killing, Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guards announced on Wednesday that they had fired multiple-warhead missiles into central Israel, aimed at improving their chances of bypassing defense systems. Footage captured by the Associated Press showed at least one missile scattering a cluster of munitions over Israeli territory.

Similarly, General Soleimani has been sanctioned by the US and other countries for his long-standing role in suppressing dissent, the AP reported.

As reported by ANI, former chairman of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd MK Surana told ANI on Wednesday that India’s immediate priority should be to ensure fuel availability and while the situation is not “business as usual”, fuel stocks are being managed.
“Let’s leave the price part aside now, because that shouldn’t be the main concern. The main concern should be availability in the current situation. But the main concern should be supply,” Surana said as he outlined the evolving energy scenario associated with the disruption around the Strait of Hormuz.
He went on to say, “It’s not like it’s business as usual. There are more challenges on the LPG side compared to other fuels, but the government is managing it and we have to work with them rather than trying to hold on.”
Explaining the global context, he said: “About 20 percent of that, around 20 million barrels, goes through the Strait of Hormuz,” adding that despite assurances, “because insurance coverage is not available, it is virtually blocked.”
