The 14-year-old made the comment during the BCCI Naman Awards 2026 and it quickly went viral. While many fans liked his choice, others online pointed out that the film is intended for adults.

His school principal explained, “He is absent today. He did not come to the exam centre. We have marked him as absent as per CBSE policy… If a student is absent, we have to mark him as absent… “We expected him to come and do a trial but there are many other obligations. There could be a cricket match or training… I think he will definitely do another trial.”As he prepares for IPL 2026, Sooryavanshi remains one of the most exciting young talents to watch.
