The 14-year-old made the comment during the BCCI Naman Awards 2026 and it quickly went viral. While many fans liked his choice, others online pointed out that the film is intended for adults.

At the same event, he spoke about his ambitions for the upcoming IPL season, saying, “The aim this season is to win a trophy for the team. If we win the trophy, it will benefit the entire franchise and my own performance. My aim is to contribute as much as possible to help the team lift the trophy.”He has already grabbed the headlines with record-breaking performances, including a stunning knock of 175 in the U-19 World Cup final that helped India win the title. He was also the best player of the tournament.Balancing cricket and studiesIn the midst of his busy schedule, Sooryavanshi missed his CBSE Class 10 exam. His school principal explained, “He is absent today. He did not come to the exam centre. We have marked him as absent as per CBSE policy… If a student is absent, we have to mark him as absent… “We expected him to come and do a trial but there are many other obligations. There could be a cricket match or training… I think he will definitely do another trial.”As he prepares for IPL 2026, Sooryavanshi remains one of the most exciting young talents to watch.
