Telangana Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy on Tuesday (March 17) handed over pattas at the site of the house to the families of police personnel killed in the 2008 Balimela tank attack, marking the end of the long wait for rehabilitation benefits promised to the martyrs’ kin.
At a program held at the State Police Headquarters, Lakdikapul, title deeds were distributed to 33 beneficiaries of the families of personnel who lost their lives in a Maoist attack on 29 June 2008. The attack, carried out near Chitrakonda in Malkangiri district of Orissa, resulted in the death of 38 people, including 32 Superintendents of Police and Superintendents of Police and 32 Superintendents of Police Grey. shells, causing it to sink.
