Heavy rain lashed parts of North Karnataka on Tuesday, bringing relief to residents suffering from the heat wave that began in late February.
It rained for almost an hour in Belagavi, Vijayapur and parts of Bagalkot. Belagavi, Vijayapura and some other cities also received hail.
In Belagavi, a tree was uprooted before an inspection by the public works department, leading to a traffic jam. Police and Fire Rescue personnel later cleaned it up.
There has been some waterlogging in low-lying areas like Maratha Colony, Hindalga Road and Bauxite Road Cross.
Commuters had to wait under trees and in bus shelters to get home.
