
A 19-year-old girl was murdered in an abandoned house in DJ Halli on Tuesday morning, allegedly by her fiance.
The victim, identified as Zoya, recently got engaged to 20-year-old Sabeel and the couple was expected to get married soon. According to preliminary police reports, Sabeel allegedly took Zoya to an abandoned house in Sakkare Mandi area belonging to his family around 6 am. While inside the house, the couple reportedly got into a heated argument.
In a fit of rage, Sabeel is said to have used a sharp weapon to cut Zoya’s throat, killing her on the spot. The entire incident is believed to have taken place within a short period of time after which the accused fled the scene. Around 6:30 AM, Sabeel’s family members reached the house and found Zoya lying in a pool of blood. They immediately alerted the police. On receiving this information, DJ Halli police rushed to the spot, secured the spot and started investigation. The body was taken to a hospital for an autopsy.
Police have launched a search for the suspect, who is on the run. Further investigation is underway to determine the exact motive for the murder.
Warehouse worker killed
In another case, a 22-year-old man was murdered, allegedly by his colleague, at a residence in Attimara under Avalahalli police station limits in Bengaluru on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Kunal Kumar, a native of Bihar, who worked in a cold storage and lived in a house at Attimara, Gorvigere, Kannamangala Post. The accused, 24-year-old Nasarulla, also a native of Bihar’s Motihari district, worked as a warehouse helper and stayed in the same locality.
According to the police, the incident took place around 12:30 at the victim’s residence on the first floor of a house in Attimara. Preliminary investigation revealed that there were frequent arguments between the two in the last 15 days. The accused alleged that Kunal abused his mother and used foul language on minor issues. Enraged by the repeated verbal abuse, Nasarulla allegedly attacked Kunal, leading to his death. Based on the complaint, Avalahalli police registered a case and arrested the accused.
