Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said on Tuesday that in lieu of Rythu Bharos, farmers are getting a benefit of around ₹25,000 each through paddy bonus.
Due to the hard work of the farmers, a bonus of ₹500 per quintal is deposited directly into the accounts of those who grow fine paddy. He added that under Rytha Bharosa, ₹9,000 crore was credited to farmers’ accounts in just nine days.
Addressing the Assembly during the Motion of Thanks to the Governor, he further said that more than ₹ 20,000 crore is deposited in women’s accounts annually under interest-free loan schemes through self-help groups and ₹ 57,000 crore has been credited so far. He emphasized that when women prosper, families and the state as a whole advance.
Criticizing the BRS leader, he said that the people of the state are well aware of the lack of respect shown to women. He alleged that Mr. KT Rama Rao repeatedly makes remarks that hurt the sentiments of women and advised him to speak more responsibly. He said that Mr. Rao seems to be speaking without proper understanding and added that if they really cared about women’s development, they would have given adequate representation to women in their cabinet.
He confirmed that the government continues to provide interest-free loans and aims to make one million women millionaires regardless of obstacles. He said the people’s government was treating women with dignity and had introduced free bus travel for women across the state. This facility was implemented within an hour of the swearing-in and the government regularly reimburses RTC for fare costs.
He hit out at the previous government for promising two-bedroom homes but failing to deliver within a decade. In contrast, he said the current government has sanctioned ₹5,000 per house and started construction. In the first phase, 4.5 lakh houses (3,500 per constituency) are being built, with ₹22,500 crore being allocated in a single tranche for Indiramma housing – a record in the country’s history.
He concluded by stating that the current government is fulfilling the six guarantees promised during the elections, while the previous regime failed to implement key promises like two-bedroom houses, one job per household, a Dalit chief minister and distribution of land to the landless poor even after ten years in power.
