Oil companies on Wednesday (July 1, 2026) cut prices of the commercial variant of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders by an average of ₹ 180 per cylinder and prices of 5 kg free trade LPG (FTL) cylinders by around ₹ 13 per cylinder.
Additionally, aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices for domestic scheduled carriers have been reduced by ₹5 per liter to ₹110 per litre.
The price cut was the first sign of an easing supply situation with more than a hundred days of conflict in West Asia heading for a likely conclusion.
Although domestic LPG prices remain unchanged.
Apart from LPG, private oil marketing company Nayara Energy – which operates more than 7,000 pumps across the country – has also cut the price of petrol by ₹5 per liter and diesel by ₹3 per litre.
In effect, it was a return to the status quo for the private oil marketing company, which raised fuel prices by the same amount on March 26 at the height of the crisis.
LPG prices reduced
Wednesday’s price cut comes after four tranches of hikes that have cumulatively raised the price of commercial LPG to ₹1,345 per cylinder since March 7.
Further, the drop in commercial LPG prices comes almost a week after the Union Petroleum Ministry on June 25 restored supplies of industrial and commercial LPG to pre-crisis levels and withdrew all sector-specific allocations citing that the situation had improved.
