Sharing the moment on social media, Revanth Reddy congratulated the cricketer for his achievement and appreciated his contribution to the success of the national team.
“On the occasion of Team India winning T20 World Cup 2026 and arriving in Hyderabad, Team India player Shri Tilak Varma paid a courtesy call,” Reddy wrote.
“I felicitated and felicitated Tilak on this occasion. Ministers Shri Vakiti Srihari and Shri Azharuddin, Rajya Sabha Member Shri Vem Narendra Reddy, SATG Chairman Shri Shivasena Reddy and others attended this programme,” he added.
Tilak joined India’s T20 World Cup squad shortly before the start of the tournament after recovering from testicular torsion surgery in January 2026. Despite a slow start to the competition, he gradually found his rhythm and played a key supporting role in the middle order.
One of his notable contributions came during the semi-final against England, where he scored a quick 27 off 15 balls to help India maintain momentum in the crucial match.
WHAT NEXT FOR TILAK VARMA?
Tilak Varma is now all set to shift his focus to franchise cricket as he prepares for the upcoming IPL 2026 season with Mumbai Indians.
The young batsman will once again share the dressing room with India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav, along with Hardik Pandya and former India captain Rohit Sharma.
Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians will begin their IPL 2026 campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 29 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
After playing an important role in India’s World Cup triumph, Tilak will be hoping to carry that confidence into the IPL season and continue his rise in international cricket.
