
Residents of Delhi woke up to a colder morning on Tuesday as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted cloudy skies over the capital on Tuesday.
The meteorological agency said the maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are likely to be in the range of 32°C-34°C and 14°C-16°C respectively on Tuesday. “Minimum and maximum temperatures will be close to normal at most places in Delhi,” the IMD said in its forecast.
Delhi is also bracing for prevailing surface winds from the northeast direction, reaching speeds of up to 10 kmph in the morning hours. Winds from the north are expected to continue to reach 10 km/h during the afternoon.
“Wind speed will decrease gradually and will be less than 06 kmph from northerly direction during evening and night,” IMD said.
The Met department has observed that minimum temperatures have dropped by 3-5°C and maximum temperatures by 1-2°C over Delhi in recent days.

Residents of Bengaluru also woke up to a slightly chilly morning on Tuesday, March 17, when the temperature dipped to around 19°C.
In its forecast, the IMD said the city is likely to see generally cloudy skies with light rain later in the day. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 33-34°C, the minimum temperature is expected to be close to 20°C.
The meteorological agency has also predicted isolated to scattered “light to moderate” rainfall with thundershowers, lightning and gusty winds across Karnataka till March 20.

A fresh westerly disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from the night of March 17, the IMD said. It noted that there will be a gradual increase in maximum temperatures of 3-5 °C over NW India over the next 3 days, with a gradual decrease of 4-7 °C over the next 2 days and no significant change thereafter.
