
The admission fee for bachelor’s degree (B.Ed.) colleges in the state will be revised from the current academic year, Higher Education Minister MC Sudhakar informed the Legislative Council.
In reply to Congress member Madhu G. Made Gowda, the Minister said that the entrance fee for B.Ed. colleges in the state have not been audited in the last 26 years.
With this in mind, the government has set up a five-member committee at the national level to look into the issue. A decision to revise the fee structure will be taken based on the recommendations submitted, he said.
Mr. Sudhakar said that a meeting was already held under the chairmanship of the Secretary of the Higher Education Department in which the issue was discussed in detail. The fee structure for professional courses in Karnataka as well as other states was reviewed as part of the meeting.
