Police on Monday (March 16, 2026) arrested a 55-year-old man for allegedly sexually abusing an eight-year-old girl in Chintalapudi mandal of Eluru district. The accused has been identified as B. Ramulu, Chintalapudi Circle Inspector Kranthi Kumar said.
Police said the girl’s grandmother lodged a complaint that Ramulu, who was their neighbor, was sexually abusing her granddaughter. The Chintalapud police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, 2012 and other charges against the accused, the CI said. The girl has been sent for medical examination, he added.
