The dates for crediting the amounts under Rythu Bharosa, the farmers’ investment support scheme, to the farmers’ accounts have finally been announced.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will credit the first installment of ₹3,590 crore on March 22 to the accounts of 70 million farmers who own one acre of land. The release will coincide with the opening of an oil palm processing plant at Nartetta in Siddipet district on the same day.
This will be followed by a second installment of ₹2,650 crore within 20 days, tentatively on April 9 or 10, and the balance of ₹2,860 crore as the third installment by the end of April.
The development comes in the light of anxious moments faced by farmers due to uncertainty over crediting of amounts for the ongoing rabi (yasangi) season. The Chief Minister took the decision on the release dates after meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao and senior officials on Sunday (March 15).
The government will credit a total of ₹9,000 crore to farmers’ accounts under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, which envisages crediting ₹6,000 per acre for each of the two cropping seasons.
