The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Sunday announced that it has increased the cost of its annual pass ₹75 to ₹3,075 for the upcoming fiscal year 2026-2027. This annual pass option was introduced on 15 August 2025 to offer tax relief to travelers using national roads.
In the official release, NHAI said he adjusts the appropriate fee for FASTag Annual pass from the current one ₹3,000 up to ₹3,075 for the financial year 2026-27. From April 1, the price adjustment has been made in accordance with the provisions of the National Road Charge (Fixation of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008, NHAI said.
With more than 56 million subscribers, the use of the FASTag Annual Pass among car owners is increasing. The updated prices will apply to qualified FASTag-enabled private vehicles that wish to use the annual pass service at approximately 1,150 toll gates on state highways and expressways.
The annual FASTag pass removes the requirement to repeatedly top up the FASTag with a one-time billing of a fee valid for twelve months or 200 toll gate passes. The permit applies to all private vehicles with a valid FASTag. This annual permit will become active within two hours on the current FASTag associated with the vehicle after making a one-time payment through the Rajmarg Yatra App or the NHAI portal. FASTag is a passive RFID identifier used for toll processing directly from the user’s connected account.
NHAI will get 18 bids for upgrading 86 km long NH in Assam
The NHAI has received 18 proposals for upgrading the 85.6-km highway stretch from Kaliabar to Numaligarh, including the construction of a 34.5-km elevated trail in the Kaziranga National Park, a formal statement said on Friday. NHAI is constructing the segment on National Highway-715 through Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode, he noted.
“NHAI has received an overwhelming response from bidders for the construction of the over 85 km Kaliabor to Numaligarh section of NH-715 passing through Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve. In response to NHAI’s bids from highway developers, the project received 18 bids,” the statement said.
The deal is expected to close during the current fiscal period for a total investment price ₹6,956 crore, he added. Part of the venture is the assembly of the 34.5 km elevated Kaziranga Corridor for the free and uninterrupted movement of animals.
“The elevated corridor will be implemented in three stretches of 18.3 km, 11.2 km and 5 km. The alignment of the corridor is designed to cover wildlife movement from Kaziranga National Park to Karbi Anglong hills and will be constructed as part of the upgradation of NH-715 from two-lane to four-lane configuration,” it said.
The statement also mentions the 85.6 km initiative, which includes the creation of two greenfield spurs with a total span of 21 km in Jakhalabandha (Nagaon) and Bokakhat (Golaghat) urban zones. It will also include a primary bridge, 20 small bridges, seven overpasses, 84 culverts, one rail bridge, five underpasses for vehicles (VUP), 12 LVUP and 16 km of auxiliary lanes.
