A fire broke out at the Telugu Desam Party office in Allur town of SPSR Nellore district on Saturday afternoon. However, no loss of life or property was reported in the incident.
According to Allur police officials, a distress call was received at 1:30 pm after which the police rushed to the spot and alerted the fire brigade.
Firefighters from Kavali reached Allur within 20 minutes. By then, the patched roof of the TDP office was completely burnt.
Although the exact cause of the fire is not yet known, preliminary estimates suggest that it may have been caused by an electrical short.
As the security personnel had left for lunch, no one was present in the office at the time of the incident.
