A protest rally against the nationwide shortage of LPG cylinders and skyrocketing prices of essential commodities was held at Subhash Nagar in the Jeedimetla industrial area on Saturday (March 14).
Mazdoor Bigul, Naujawan Bharat Sabha (NBS) and Disha student organization jointly organized this protest. The workers expressed their dismay at kilometer-long queues at gas stations and the rampant black marketing of pressure cylinders.
Activists criticized the government for being as apathetic to the needs of ordinary people as it was during the COVID-19 pandemic with a lack of advanced planning.
Demonstrators also denounced aggression against Iran and the central government’s new-found friendship with Israel, and demanded control of the black marketing of gas, access to gas bottles at regular prices, lower taxes on gasoline and diesel, and measures against hoarding.
