G. Venkataraman is the new director of the Fire and Rescue Service

The Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday transferred G. Venkataraman, Director General of Police (DGP)/former Superintendent of Police (in-charge) who is currently DGP, Civil Supplies CID, Chennai, and appointed him as DGP/Director of Fire and Rescue Services. He replaces Seema Agarwal, who retired on June 30. The state government has also appointed IAS officer Kakarl Ush as the additional principal secretary for public and rehabilitation. He will replace G. Laxmi Priya, who is currently Secretary II to the Chief Minister and has held the additional post of Secretary Public and Rehabilitation.
