Former MLA Kondigari Ramulu (91) died on Friday. A respected leader in Telangana politics, he was known for his simplicity and lifelong devotion to communist ideals. He served as MLA for the Ibrahimpatnam constituency for two consecutive terms, winning in 1989 and 1994 on a CPI(M) ticket.
Before his legislative career, he came through the ranks of the communist movement and even worked as a laborer on the Nagarjunasagar project. Despite serving as a legislator twice, he led a modest life in a small house measuring 120 square meters in Ibrahimpatnam, relying only on his government pension.
Former CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao and working president KT Rama Rao and TPCC president Mahesh Goud expressed their deep grief and described him as a “man of the people” whose life serves as an inspiration for future generations.
