A one-day workshop on the new curriculum to be introduced at the national level from the academic year 2026-27 in allied and healthcare facilities was organized by the Kerala State Allied and Healthcare Council (KESAHC) here on Tuesday.
KESAHC was established in the state under the National Commission for Allied and Health Professions Act, 2021. KESAHC regulates, standards and registers more than 50 categories of allied and health professionals to ensure quality education and ethical standards.
S. Gopakumar, Registrar, Kerala University of Health Sciences, who inaugurated the workshop, said that KUHS was finalizing the procedures to implement the new curriculum.
New competency-based curricula for ten allied and health professions are being rolled out at the national level by the Union Ministry of Health in collaboration with NCAHP to create globally competent allied and health professionals to respond to the growing demand for these professionals. The new national curricula, which are expected to benchmark the quality of health workers, will also ensure consistency of skills
