Three things are considered the most important in the epic Mahabharata: Bhagavad Gita, Vidhura Neethi and Bhishma Upadesa. Vidura Neethi is very easy to understand and follow from them, even for common people.
Vidura Neethi, the advice given by Vidura to King Dhritarashtra, contains basic instructions for righteous living and wise conduct that apply to all people. Dr. In one of his speeches, Venkatesh explained some of the qualities and traits of a truly intelligent person, drawing on Vidura Neethi.
An intelligent person understands well and takes initiative in fulfilling his duties. Whatever difficulties or disturbances arise, he does not lose patience and remains steadfast. He never deviates from the path of dharma. It is said that Vibhishana prayed to Brahma, the creator, seeking the boon that he should never descend from the path of dharma. An intelligent person thinks carefully before taking any action, and once a decision is made, he does not back down from it. He readily understands the nuances of the work he proposes to do. Such a person allows others to speak and listens carefully to them.
He would not undertake any work just because his mind desires it. Instead, he would analyze the matter carefully and make a decision only after careful consideration. He wouldn’t offer unsolicited advice to anyone. He did not think about what was lost, nor would he grieve over it much. He understood things quickly and clearly. He would not want things that are beyond his reach.
He will remain firm and steadfast even in the face of adversity. Praise did not exalt him, nor would insults depress him. Such a person would always show respect and reverence to elders.
