Uncertainty surrounding the ongoing conflict in West Asia has begun to disrupt the summer travel season, forcing many residents to cancel or reconsider long-planned international vacations. Tour operators say bookings have slowed sharply, particularly on routes across the Persian Gulf, while nervous families are either choosing alternative destinations or postponing their plans altogether.
Ticket 2 Escape’s Ratiranjan Shah said demand for international travel had fallen in recent weeks. “Demand for foreign travel has fallen by almost 40-50%, whether it’s air tickets or complete tours,” he said. “People are hesitant not only about the Persian Gulf, but also about other international destinations. They even have doubts about places like Thailand or Indonesia.”
