
Varun Chakravarthy’s reign as the No. 1 ranked T20I bowler has come to an end after a lackluster World Cup campaign at home. Varun was displaced from the top spot by Rashid Khan at the conclusion of the ICC campaign, despite taking 14 wickets and finishing as the joint-top wicket-taker in the competition.
The spinner earned the spot in September 2025 after a fantastic run of form and held the position as the top bowler in the format until Wednesday 11 March. Varun had a great start to his T20 World Cup campaign, taking nine wickets in four matches. However, became expensive during the Super 8 stages and his form showed no signs of improvement in the semi-finals and final against England and New Zealand.

During the semi-final match in Mumbai, Varun conceded 64 runs in four overs and conceded only one wicket. In the final in Ahmedabad, Varun conceded 39 runs in three overs but picked up the crucial wicket of Tim Seifert.
The spinner ended his campaign conceding 287 runs in 31 overs, with an economy rate of 9.25 and an average of 20.5. Jasprit Bumrah, who was involved in India’s last win with figures of four for 15, has jumped one place to sixth. Bumrah ended the campaign with 14 wickets like Varun at an average of 12.42 and an economy rate of 6.21.
Axar Patel, who ended the campaign with 11 wickets in seven matches, moved up six places to 17th after the latest update of the rankings.
HARDIK CONTINUES TO DELIVER THE RAZA
The battle for the top spot in the T20I all-rounder rankings continues to be very close. Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza and India’s Hardik Pandya achieved new career bests this week, holding on to the first and second positions. Raza sits at the top with 328 rating points, with Hardik hot on his heels with 299.
Meanwhile, Mitchell Santner also recorded a personal best after climbing three places to ninth in the all-rounders’ rankings. Another big mover was England’s Will Jacks, who moved up five places to 13th after his superb performances during the 2026 Men’s World T20 Cup.
