As many as 11,664 candidates of Yogi Vemana University (YVU) will receive degrees in absentia at the convocation for four consecutive academic years to be held on March 13 (Friday).
Vice-Chancellor Bellamkonda Rajasekhar told a media conference here on Tuesday that the Governor and Chancellor S. Abdul Nazeer will attend the 11th (2020-21), 12th (2021-22), 13th (2022-23) and 14th (2022-23) convocations which will be held simultaneously for candidates and 24.
A total of 1,194 postgraduate, 11,664 undergraduate and 70 Ph.D. scholars will receive their respective degrees at convocation.
Mr. Rajasekhar said that the 21-year-old YVU presented stiff competition to the state’s age-old universities in terms of cutting-edge research and global recognition, pointing to an A grade awarded by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and an impressive ranking by the National Institutional Ranking Board (NIRF).
On the social side, the NSS university unit adopted 131 villages in Kadapa district to ensure their overall development.
Registrar-in-charge Padma, Principal T. Srinivas, Controller of Examinations KSV Krishna Rao and Library Director CP Brown Parvathi were also present.
