Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara said on Tuesday that he has ordered the Crime Investigation Department (CID) to investigate the alleged abduction and killing of a real estate dealer from Anekal. The accused kidnapped him to Tamil Nadu where he was tortured and then murdered. The Anekal police, who are investigating the case, have arrested the main accused, while efforts are on to trace the others involved.
Mr. Parameshwara was responding to a question raised by Congress MLA Pradeep Eshwar in the Legislative Assembly during the zero hour. “Based on the initial reports we received, I have directed that the case be handed over to the CID. They will conduct the investigation,” Mr. Parameshwara said.
Demanding justice for the family of the deceased, Mr. Eshwar had earlier urged the Home Secretary to hand over the case to the CID. “One person has been arrested and two suspects are still at large. They should be arrested as soon as possible,” he said.
