According to a PTI report, players will get the largest share of the reward. Each of the 15 cricketers is expected to get Rs 6 crore, while the remaining Rs 41 crore will be split between the coaching staff and support team depending on their roles and hierarchy. The reward is slightly higher than the Rs 125 crore bonus given to the Rohit Sharma-led team after India win the 2024 T20 World Cup, showing that the board still values big international wins.Appreciating the team’s achievement, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said, “The board once again congratulates the players, support staff and selectors for this historic achievement and wishes them well in the future.”Earlier, the BCCI also announced R58 million for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy winner, R51 million for the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup winner and R7.5 million for the ICC U19 World Cup winner. In the T20 World Cup, India clinched the trophy after defeating the New Zealand national cricket team by 96 runs in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. The win was particularly significant as the team successfully defended their title and became the first team in the history of the tournament to retain the T20 World Cup.The triumph made India the first team to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup three times, cementing their legacy as one of the most dominant teams in the game’s shortest format.
