As the United States’ joint attack with Israel on Iran entered its 11th day on Tuesday, March 10, a university poll found that a majority of American voters do not support strikes on the Gulf country and fear a domestic terrorist attack in retaliation for an attack on the Iranian regime.
Most voters in America also do not want to see boots on Iranian soil, but they do not expect a quick end to the conflict either.
According to a Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pea-ack) University National Survey of registered voters released today, up to 53 percent of voters oppose U.S. military action against Iran, while 40 percent support it.
What about the alleged “threat” from Iran?
About 55 percent of voters say Iran was not an imminent military threat to the United States before the latest U.S. military action, compared with 39 percent who think it is.
Of those, Democrats, 83-12 percent and Independents 63-31 percent, “do not think Iran poses an imminent military threat to the United States,” while about 74-23 percent of Republicans think they do.
“Seventy-seven percent of voters think it is either very likely (33 percent) or somewhat likely (44 percent) that a terrorist attack on U.S. soil will occur in response to U.S. military action against Iran, while 19 percent think it is either not as likely (12 percent) or not at all likely (7 percent),” the poll said.
Despite the “nuclear” claims that Donald Trump and the Israeli regime were still sailing, 62 percent of voters think the Trump administration “has not provided a clear explanation of the reasons for the United States’ military action against Iran, while 35 percent think the government has provided an explanation.”
“Fifty-nine percent of voters think President Trump should have gotten approval from Congress before taking military action against Iran, while 38 percent don’t think President Trump should have gotten approval from Congress before taking military action against Iran,” it said.
After Donald Trump’s approval, only 37 percent of American voters gave a thumbs up and approved of the way the Republican president has handled the job, while “57 percent disapprove.”
“The 58 percent disapproval rating for Trump’s handling of the economy is the highest disapproval rating he has ever received for his handling of the economy. The previous high was 57 percent,” the poll said.
