
Sahibzada Farhan will make his ODI debut when Pakistan take on Bangladesh in the first match of the three-match ODI series on Wednesday, March 11. Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi confirmed the same in the pre-match press conference and praised Farhan as one of the best players in the limited-overs team.
Afridi also confirmed that Maaz Sadaqat and Shamil Hussain will make their debuts, with Pakistan having six uncapped players in their squad. He added that Farhan will open the batting alongside Sadaqat, with Hussain at No.3, expressing hope that the trio will play their natural game and showcase their skills for the team.

Farhan enjoyed a stellar T20 World Cup, scoring 383 runs in six innings at an average of 76.60 and a strike rate of 160.25, despite Pakistan’s exit before the semi-finals. He became the first batsman to score multiple centuries in a single edition, hitting hundreds against Namibia and Sri Lanka and broke Virat Kohli’s record for most runs in a single tournament.
Apart from the duck against India, Farhan was in complete control throughout. His performances earned him second place in the ICC T20I batsmen’s rankings and a place in the World Cup team tournament. In 46 T20Is, he has 1,305 runs at an average of 30.34 and a strike rate of 136.64, including two centuries and 10 half-centuries.
Meanwhile, Sadaqat was Pakistan’s top performer at last year’s Rising Stars Asia Cup in Doha, Qatar. He finished as the tournament’s top scorer, amassing 258 runs in five matches at an average of 129 and a strike rate of 177.93, including two fifties and a top score of 96 not out.
Shamyl was an outstanding performer in Pakistan domestic cricket. In the 2025-26 QuaideAzam Trophy, he scored 899 runs at 64.21 with three centuries and five fifties. He also excelled in List A cricket, amassing 452 runs at 56.50, including two hundreds. Former Pakistan Under-19 player and Islamabad United squad member Hussain is also the captain of Pakistan Shaheens.
