The Ernakulam High Court has granted anticipatory bail to filmmaker Chidambaram in a sexual assault case registered against him on a complaint filed by a young actress. The director of Malayalam blockbuster Manjummal Boys was booked by the Ernakulam Town South police last week. The complainant accused the principal of sexually assaulting her in a flat here in 2022. Mr Chidambaram was charged under Section 74 (outraging the modesty of a woman) and Section 75 (offence of sexual harassment) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
